Individual therapy is an amazing resource for those who want to learn about themselves and the tools to manage emotions in a healthy way.
Here are some of the ways we use it with clients here at Xenia

Strength-Based Approaches
One belief at Xenia is that the client has already overcome trials in their life, and because of this we as therapists will work with the client using the strengths they already possess. Our job is not to make the client into something else, but to help strengthen those helpful parts of self so the individual can use them as supports.

We believe that our clients already have the potential and resources to be their strongest selves, and our job is to
(1) help them see where they have succeeded before and
(2) help them refine those strengths to be used again when things are stressful/difficult.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy where the client is able to recognize unhelpful thought patterns in order to regulate them. All of our therapists use CBT in their therapy work, along with a number of other types of therapy.

This is helpful for:
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Negative feelings about Self
-
Trauma
-
Addiction Issues
-
Difficulty finding connection with others
-
Parenting issues
-
Low work performance

DBT
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy for clients who experience really intense emotions. DBT helps people accept the sensations they have and the world around them, but also teaches them how to change those things to be more healthy in their regulation.

This is helpful for:
-
Personality Disorders
-
High Anxiety
-
Sleeping Issues
-
Trauma /PTSD
-
Addiction Issues
-
Depression
Values and Boundary Work
Throughout our work with clients we have noticed that the majority of those we work with first need help identifying their core values, and then from there identifying what boundaries they need, both for themselves and others.
By working with Individuals identifying their boundaries we find they feel more grounded in the goals they want to accomplish, and are able to create safety for themselves.

All our clients benefit from Value and Boundary Work, but it is especially helpful for:
-
Life Transitions
-
Anxiety
-
Faith Transitions
-
Healthy Sexuality
-
Connection Issues
